Welcome from Principal Stephanie Jackman

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I continue to serve as principal of Ryan Elementary School, now entering my fourth year with this extraordinary community. Since stepping into this role, my belief in Ryan as a place where I can make a meaningful difference continues to grow stronger. Each year has brought new opportunities to learn, celebrate, and strengthen the connections among our students, staff, and families that make our school such a special place.

That commitment is grounded in my 31 years in education, including 22 years as an elementary principal. My journey has included roles as a classroom teacher, Literacy Specialist, District Title I Coordinator, and thirteen years as principal at Lafayette Elementary before joining Ryan. I remain deeply committed to Boulder Valley School District and to fostering a culture of excellence, belonging, and continuous growth here at Ryan Elementary.

Celebrating Our Achievements

Reflecting on this past year, I am incredibly proud of our progress and accomplishments:

• Academic Growth: Continued improvement in reading and math performance across grade levels
• Student Engagement: Increased participation and enthusiasm for learning throughout the school
• Positive and Safe Culture: Strengthened consistency with our Rhino Promise expectations and completing our second year as No Place for Hate 
• S.T.E.A.M. Buddies: Every classroom has a buddy group that meets weekly to connect and explore topics related to our school’s focus
• A.G.E. Celebrations: Our joyful tradition of recognizing achievement, growth, and effort has become a highlight for students
• New Opportunities: Introduction of optional programs including DARE to DREAM,  READ to RIDE with Lafayette Fire Department and summer writing, Write Like a Rhino

Looking Ahead

Our focus remains on continuous improvement and collaboration. We'll be sharing updates soon about our school goals and priorities for the year, and I look forward to partnering with all of you in this important work.

My door remains open—I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and feedback as we continue to strengthen our shared vision for Ryan Elementary.
